HTC set for "massive" announcement

Rumours are circulating following the announcement that HTC are to hold a press event next week, according to reports.
Product-reviews.net has stated that the manufacturer will be speaking at a "massive" press conference on May 6th and could be in line with plans to announce the launch of a new handset.
The website notes that this is realistically expected to be HTC's latest Windows Mobile SmartPhone the Touch Diamond, which will be soon available on T Mobile and will replace older handsets such as the Touch Cruise and Pro models.
However, it is reported that some speculation has risen that the manufacturer could be about to announce the launch of the Android handset although the site concludes that "this seems to be a bit of wishful thinking".
The Android device, also known as the Dream, is a rumoured HTC handset that Fierce Mobile Content reported earlier this month would utilise Google's Android software.
