Go! Speed Racer Go!

One of this summer's biggest blockbuster movies will head for mobile phones in a new game soon, according to reports.

Speed Racer, the action adventure movie based on a Japanese anime series from the 1960s and directed by the team behind The Matrix, has been given a mobile game makeover by Glu and will be released to coincide with the movie.

It is reported that the game will aim to give mobile phones gamers a taste of the film, which is distributed by Warner Brothers, by taking part in some frantic road racing action.

Anthony Campagna, director of wireless sales development at Warner Bros Digital Distribution, said: "The team at Glu has done a remarkable job of delivering all the fast action of Speed Racer onto the mobile phone."

"This game provides hours of entertainment and will make a great companion piece for anyone passionate about [the film]."

Already buzz has begun about a possible sequel to the film, with one of its stars Christina Ricci telling Superhero Hype this week that she would be interested in another film.
