Apple iPhone 'about to see price cut'

The Apple iPhone could be about to receive a significant price cut, if recent reports are to be believed.
Pocket-lint states that Mobile Magazine has reported that O2, the network currently handling the iPhone exclusively could slash the price of the handset by as much as £100 - making it available for £169.
Although nothing official has been announced and Mobile Magazine has not yet confirmed is sources, the website states that the recent decision to cut the price of Apple's iPhone has fuelled speculation.
It is also reported that Apple could be planning to bring a 3G version of the iPhone to market sooner than had previously been predicted and that this also could be one reason behind plans to make the original model more affordable.
Earlier this month, the website noted that T Mobile, the network operating the iPhone in Germany, had dropped the price of the 8GB iPhone to 99 (£80) - dependent on the contract.
