O2 announces mobile broadband shake up

With some mobile broadband customers admitting confusion over the cost of their package, O2 has refreshed its offerings.
The network reports that recent research has shown that a number of people in the UK have complained that they were mis-sold mobile broadband packages and adds that its latest move will attempt to address this.
It states that the refresh will boost consumer confidence in the mobile broadband market by providing a simplified pricing structure and a 50-day Happiness Guarantee.
"These elements will help reinforce O2 as a highly competitive provider of mobile broadband and allow its customers to stay connected whether at home or out and about," the network said in a statement.
O2 also claims to be revising its structures for international roaming, with new customers being required to contact its customer services department if they need roaming activated - allowing the company to "explain the likely costs".
Virgin broadband recently announced its customers would now be able to add mobile services to their package for £5 per month.
