New Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was showing off his BlackBerry Storm yesterday, days after becoming the planet's best racing driver.
Hamilton, who is sponsored by Vodafone, was in London to launch the smartphone, which many are comparing to the Apple iPhone.
Until now, BlackBerrys were equipped with Qwerty keyboards, but the Storm comes with the SurePress touchscreen for operation and typing.
Like previous models from the brand, it can connect to the internet for email access, making it a potentially ideal tool for those who need to work remotely.
A 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and auto-flash is another feature of the Storm, as is the video camera and built-in global positioning system.
Battery life is 15 hours on standby and 5.5 hours talk time, so it may also more reliable than other handsets on the market.
Among other topics, Hamilton was asked about his romance with Pussycat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.
"I'm very happy. We're both very happy," he revealed. "I definitely sleep with a big smile on my face."
