New iPhone has "shaken up" the sector

The Apple iPhone 3G has "shaken up" the mobile phones industry by offering a handset with such high quality downloads, according to one expert.

According to Karl Sharpe, a specialist from mobile-phones.co.uk, the kind of applications that can now be found through the official Apple store are making life tricky for other manufacturers.

He said that the company had provided users with an innovative new device that, in tandem with the App Store, is making iPhone 3G users very happy.

"Apple has now built a base of users who trust them when it comes to good quality applications," he added.

It was also suggested that tempting these users into switching over to other mobile phones would be "very, very difficult for the other manufacturers."

The Apple iPhone 3G was launched ion July this year and is now available on pay-as-you-go exclusively through the O2 network in the UK.
