For those wanting something a bit more from their mobile phone, certain models on the market claim to go above and beyond the norm in terms of style.
With this in mind, gadget website T3 has compiled a list of the five most luxurious handsets, starting with the Tag Heuer Meidiist for £2,650.
Pure alligator skin covers the back of the handset and sapphires adorn the screen, the review said.
Next up was the Vertu Constellation, which would cost buyers £2,700 and give them a model made from stainless steel, leather and 18-carat gold.
The Nokia 8800 Arte has a £600 price tag and offers a range of options for the consumer.
T3 said: "The Arte is encased in a gloriously seductive chassis that has one of the most satisfying slide mechanisms this side of a particularly nice playground."
Second to last was the £5,600 Gresso, reportedly made from 200-year-old African Blackwood and with buttons made from gold and diamonds.
Finally, luxury leather and titanium make up the Bellperre, which the website described as "a petite box of privilege".
