Two new smartphones from Nokia are likely to stand up well to the might of Apple's latest 3G offering, it has been suggested.
IT Pro Portal reports that the Finnish manufacturer's latest N-Series models, the N85 and N96, are not only "multimedia powerhouses" but boost enough features to tempt buyers.
The Nokia N85 is equipped with a 2.6-inch screen, GPS connectivity with access to Nokia Maps, a five-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and an 8GB memory card that can be upgraded to 16GB at a later stage.
The N96 features a 2.8-inch LCD screen and in addition to even more extras than the N85 is designed with those who like to watch TV and video playback on their handsets.
MarketWatch reports this week that the N96 allows for the easy exploration, purchase and downloading of TV, film and other content.
"Additionally, the built-in kick stand allows the Nokia N96 to be supported handsfree at an optimal viewing angle to ensure enjoyment of their favourite video content," it said.
However, IT Pro Portal adds that for a true rival to the latest iPhone, Nokia users would be better off waiting for the Tube, which it states could offer "touchscreen nirvana".
