Fans of innovative mobile phones and devices might be looking forward to the GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2009.
The group announced this week that entries can now be submitted from the industry which is continuing to surprise its peers and consumer base.
Described as a "unique platform" for companies in the mobile sector to be recognised, the GSMA awards are set to include a range of new categories for 2009, such as Best mobile Internet, Best Mobile TV Service and Best Mobile Money Service.
In addition, the Best Mobile Technology awards have been updated to consider "the wealth of creativity and imagination in the mobile industry".
Other categories to be decided at the event in February 2009 include Best Billing or Customer Care Solution and Best Mobile Brand Campaign.
Meanwhile, it emerged last week that a television advertisement for the Apple iPhone was ordered not to be broadcast again by the Advertising Standards Authority.
The watchdog upheld complaints that some parts of the internet were not accessible on the device.
