Virgin first to offer free home-to-mobile calls

Virgin Media is "extremely proud" to be the first mobile phone company to offer free home-to-mobile calls for its new and existing customers.

The network will allow its phone clients to ring from their landlines to Virgin mobiles free of charge, beginning in April.

Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and telephony at the media company, said the company was pleased with the new initiative when "other providers seem keen on giving their customers less from their phone service".

He added: "Our successful quadplay strategy has demonstrated customers are looking for exceptional value by bundling more services together."

New tariffs launched by Virgin Media

It has emerged that Virgin Media will revise its tariffs to compete with its rivals on pay monthly deals.

One of the deals will involve an £18 monthly payment that will give users the chance to take advantage of the two former incentives, while subscribers to the £25 tariff will receive the internet.

It was noted these would be "competitive bundles" and Virgin Media's managing director of mobile Graeme Oxby said it was hoped people would be keen to take advantage.

"We're offering consum ...
