Android-powered Pulse arrives on T Mobile
Posted: 23 October 2009
T Mobile has unveiled details of a new handset that it hopes will bring Google Android to the masses.
It was noted the Pulse will be available as part of the network's pay-as-you go catalogue - making it the first to be featured on these tariffs in Britain.
Nicola Shenton, acting head of handset and device marketing at the firm in the UK, explained that the model had generated a great deal of interest since it was first showcased a month ago.
"As it's the only Android phone that can be bought without a monthly contract, we think it will be the must-have mobile Christmas gift this year," she added.
The T Mobile Pulse is equipped with a trackball navigation, a 3.2-megap ...

He explained that the portable version of the application, which is also available for the Apple iPhone 3G, can be downloaded for free - but users then face a £9.99 monthly subscription.
However, for those who sign up, Mr Smith said they will have a wide selection of tunes available to them at any time, via a system that is easy to navigate.

A new review has suggested that T Mobile may have put out a device that combines affordability with "all the essentials of a modern smartphone".
Built by Chinese manufacturer Huawei, the network-branded Pulse is to be available across the UK with a pay-as-you-go price tag of around £180 - making it one of the cheapest Google Android-powered options on the market.
In a piece for Trusted Reviews this week, Edward Chester points out that despite lacking the "glamour" of some of its rivals, this may put the device up against handsets like the Apple iPhone 3G for those on a budget.
He explained that, in addition, the Pulse does not leave out things like 3G HSDPA a ...

Orange and T Mobile have announced plans have been set into motion to form a single network in the UK.
Both operators issued a statement today via their respective parent companies - Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom - that explained what this might mean for consumers.
If the two UK mobile networks do join forces, they would be able to control around a third of the UK sector - something which could ignite the interest of the Competition Commission.
However, chief financial officer of France Telecom Gervais Pellissier explained that this could actually be good for the market, encouraging future innovations and developments.
He said the move would provide "fair competition ...
