Phones4U investigation "closed" by Ofcom

Mobile phone customers can rest assured information about products and services from Phones4U are more accurate, according to Ofcom.
The communications regulator announced the mobile phone company has agreed to clarify and amend some if its practices to bring them into line with current legislation.
An investigation was prompted by a complaint from Staffordshire Trading Standards.
But Ofcom has ruled Phones4U can continue trading after it made extensive alterations to its returns policy, chequeback terms and conditions and sales practices.
This could be excellent news for mobile phone customers who like to know exactly what they are buying into.

Phones4U leaks "spectastic" Samsung details

Details have emerged on another touchscreen phone that could be about to tempt mobile phone shoppers.
Trusted Reviews reports that "another spectastic touchscreen handset from Samsung" appeared on the Phones4U website recently and has subsequently been pulled - leading to speculation over the handset.
It is reported that the handset appeared to be an "eight-megapixel heavy hitter which looks set to head to head with the iPhone 3G" and goes by the name of the Samsung Bresson.

Phones4U tickles Samsung pink

A new handset has been launched exclusively through Phones4U that links up with this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to Mobile Choice UK, the retailer will offer customers the Samsung U800 in pink, with a £10 donation made to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity for every one sold.
The site claims that the change in colour relates to the colour usually associated with breast cancer charities and the exclusive launch of the phone will be timed to run alongside this October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A number of retailers have been praised for offering new deals on mobile phones
Dialaphone, Phones4U and 3 were among the providers singled out in this week's Mobile Choice UK top 10 mobile phone deals.
The 3 network was listed for offers including a Nokia 3120 Classic with free texts, free calls and a 4GB memory card for £20 per month and a Sony Ericsson C902 which allowed buyers to mix and match free minutes and texts on a £22 tariff.
Phones4U were highlighted for a HTC Touch Diamond offer that was available on Orange's Dolphin £35 tariff and came with 600 free call minutes, 3,000 free texts and line rental at half price for 11 months.

Phones4U offers free laptop deals

New mobile broadband customers have been offered the chance to get their hands on a free laptop when signing up for web services at Phones4U.
The mobile broadband and phones retailer has followed the success of similar schemes from the Carphonewarehouse by making a number of different notebooks available as a free gift when certain contracts are signed up to.
Pocket-lint reports that Phones4U customers will be able to take advantage of mobile broadband services from Orange at a fee of around £30 per month and will be given a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo at no extra cost.
