Apple boost iTunes for iPhone customers

Users of the Apple iPhone 3G have been given a boost this week after the company announced changes to its online media store
It was unveiled during the company's Macworld event this week that a number of music labels - including Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and EMI - would now offer music via iTunes Plus.
The service is an upgrade of the original iTunes package that allows audio files to be downloaded - free from DRM - at the improved encoding rate of 256 kbps AAC.
Apple states that this means the iPhone will now have access to higher-quality content than ever before.

A new article has listed the top ten gadgets of 2008 and the latest mobile phones feature throughout.
In addition to lightweight laptops from Asus, flat-screen TVs from Philips and Bluetooth printers from Polaroid, Electricpig notes that there are some feature-packed handsets that have lit up the year.

Rumour surrounds 'iPhone Nano'

An iPhone Nano could be on the cards, according to T3.
The gadget website reports it has heard a rumour that a smaller version of the current iPhone offering much of the same functionality is due to be released.
A picture reportedly showing the new handset has been uploaded to the Mac Rumours site, T3 explains.
It also points out one retailer has added an iPhone Nano slot on its product pages, although it acknowledges this could be human error.
Commenting on the demand for such a handset, T3 states: "In truth, there doesn't seem to be any desire for a shrunk-down iPhone ... right now."

The Apple iPhone 3G has "shaken up" the mobile phones industry by offering a handset with such high quality downloads, according to one expert.
According to Karl Sharpe, a specialist from mobile-phones.co.uk, the kind of applications that can now be found through the official Apple store are making life tricky for other manufacturers.

There are a number of reasons that the Apple iPhone 3G has been so "massively popular" this year, according to one expert.
A spokesman for Stuff Magazine, an online and print publication that offers news and reviews on the latest gadgets, said the device had built on the popularity of the company's hugely successful iPod.

Innovations in the technological development of mobile phones have been great for those who love to play games, according to one expert.
A spokesman for eGaming Review, an online magazine which looks at the business end of the internet gaming market, said new handsets from BlackBerry as well as the Apple iPhone 3G were particularly good for the industry.

Apple iPhone 3G and iPod Touch users have allowed one company to record its one-millionth download.
Since its launch on the App Store in July, Pangea Software claims to have reached the milestone figure with its range of games for mobile phones that run on the iPhone platform.

The iconic iPod mp3 player may have provided the blueprint for the Apple iPhone 3G, but a new article states the original is still better in some respects.
Touch Arcade decided to pit the 2GB Apple iPod Touch up against its multimedia sibling and found the result was the mp3 player had a faster processing speed making it better for 3D gaming, among other things.
It was revealed by the sight that Apple had "quietly boosted" the latest 2GB Touch mp3 player when it relaunched it in September this year giving it 532MHz of processing in comparison to the 412MHz of the iPhone.

An advert for the Apple iPhone 3G has been banned after viewers complained that it was misleading.
Advertising watchdog ASA confirmed that 17 complaints had been made about the television advert for the iPhone 3G, saying it exaggerated how fast its internet speed was.
The advert, which claimed several times that the model was "really fast", showed various actions, such as downloading a file and surfing a webpage, in under a second.

New software update available for iPhone users

Users of the Apple iPhone 3G can now install a new software update and experience different features and improved tools.
The iPhone 2.2 Software Update includes enhancements to maps, such as Street View, which is claimed to "take you on a virtual walking tour".
Apple said there will now be fewer issues with scheduled fetching of emails and better formatting of messages in HTML format.
Safari, the manufacturer's internet browser, will have improved stability, while the sound quality of video voicemails has also been tweaked.
