Motorola messaging phone "very usable"

A new handset has been launched by Motorola that one expert believes could be of interest to those who favour messaging over voice calls.

In an article for Mobile Burn this week, Brian James Kirk looked at the manufacturer's new i465 Clutch device and drew particular attention to its various text-based features.

He explained the Motorola device has a full qwerty keyboard that packs the buttons close enough together to keep the whole phone compact - but not at the expense of the user experience.

"The buttons are cut at sharp angles which make them very usable," Mr Kirk added, noting they also "feel sturdy and respond well to quick typing" and "light up when press ...

The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has decided not to uphold complaints relating to a promotional campaign for the Apple iPhone 3G.

According to the judgment, ten viewers voiced concern over whether the advert - which referred to the many apps available for the handset - was misleading.

The voice-over on the clip said "Yep, there's an app for just about anything. Only on the iPhone", but the group of consumers said this may not be true because the T Mobile G1 phone also has a marketplace with downloadable apps as well.

However, the ASA said it believed viewers would understand the meaning of "Only on the iPhone" to mean that Apple is not the only company supplyin ...
