Review of the HTC Desire by Howard Posted: 24 August 2010

A specatacularly easy to use and well-featured phone which for me is a much better prospect than an IPhone 4.
Exchange email is spot on and Sat-Nav, Google maps etc are also cool and work better than on an IPhone.
But this phone is not perfect - the screen is almost invisible in daylight - you should try this to see how bad this problem is - you will spot HTC Desire owners in the street seeking out shade under trees, next to lorries etc to use their phones. This is the worst thing about the phone.
I (and thousands of others) have also had to reset the phone due to a googlemail/gmail address conflict which was ENTIRELY Googles fault. Spending 4 hours on the internet to find out how to cure the problem was not amusing either.
You also get the HTC Sense interface which is FAB but means updates to the Android Operating System can be delayed for months.
As for the camera - what an excellent demonstration of how megapixels mean nothing - its poor and video is worse.
Still, its still the best phone you can buy by a long way and you dont need the awful ITunes.

Certainly the closest any phone has come to perfection. Pros: Excellent Build Quality with Good looks. Fast Processor with appropriate Memory.
Large Screen with multi touch scrolling.
Cons: Average Battery Life. Average Speaker Volume. Screen visibility under bright sunlight is not acceptable.
Verdict: This phone has set standards for the future of smartphones.

The Desire is exactlly what it says on the box! This is one fast, easy to use amazing phone. The large screen is crystal clear and the touchpad very responsiveness and reactive. The Android operating system is brilliant, with loads of apps available to download and many more being added daily. The camera is of high quality although a bit slow but that shouldnt put anyone off getting one.

Nice phone. To me, its big screen really attracts other to have it. HTC also have it own aura and ability needed by the us. Actually, I doesnt really know about any mobile phone but HTC just make me have to take a look about it. I know, it can make the user feel new experience suitable with this new era. I have nothing to say anymore about this mobile phone except it attract me a lot. Thank you to the developer and to the designer because doing their best for us.

An absolutely stunning handset from HTC. Great display and Sense UI raises the Android bar for usability. Battery life is acceptable once you have task and power management apps installed. Before this, it could chew through the battery in 8 hours or so. Android Market is not as slick as Apples but has loads of free apps and has so far met all my needs. Would I recommend the HTC Desire? Without doubt!

Have had the Desire for three weeks now, and this phone kicks the proverbial. Great screen, Sense UI and Android give a great user experience, and some really good apps from the market. Try Swype, Handcent SMS and the various Twitter and Facebook apps, as well as Layar. With all my add-ons, listening to music and browsing the battery drains quite quickly, but easily solved by having a charger at work. Basically a stonking phone that allows you to reach the parts that other smartphones cant reach (Apple) .

htc desire is the leading smart phone around.its a rival to apples best phone the itouch.Following the Legend, HTC continues its Android 2.1 lineup with the Desire -- a gorgeous cousin of the renowned Nexus One. We can trace our drool all the way back to the Desires leak in December, but there have been some changes since then that made it slightly less desirable -- DivX support and 720p video capture never made it to the final build, but its not like the company laid down any official promise on them, right? Anyhow, theres still plenty to be loved here, namely the speedy 1GHz Snapdragon, the large AMOLED screen, and HTCs latest revision of Sense UI that weve already seen on the Legend.

The phone, this android lady is beautiful to hold and easy to use. She is ultra quick and sensitive. It takes some getting used to. There are mods that will make it a dream, eg confim call or message. It is so quick to call and can do inadvertently when trying to rifle through your papers because it was touched in the right spot. It also behaves like a woman - does something and then you know its your own fault if its wrong. You want to blame the phone but.... you know its your own fault. The apps available are plentiful but would be fantastic if more were available free. The operating system and technology are incredible. The camera is not spectacular. the photo taken is not quite the same as after it is stored. Battery lasts a day but I charge it overnight, every night. it ensures me with availability the whole of the next day. It will improve. Currently waiting for skype and betfair to be made compatible with this beautiful android lady.
Also need some clothes for her - shes naked whilst the designers figure out some wraps.
