Samsung has launched its latest Genio phone, which is exclusive to Vodafone for the first month.

The Genio Slide is the third handset of its kind to be released by Samsung after the Genio touch and Genio qwerty.

Designed specifically for the youth market, the phone has a qwerty keyboard that slides out allowing the user to turn the handset horizontally and type a message.

Mark Mitchinson, vice-president of Samsung Mobile UK & Ireland said: "We’ve enjoyed huge success with Genio touch and Genio qwerty and, as a hybrid of the two devices, we know it will be a hit with the target audience."

The handset features a touchscreen display and TV lovers can access BBC iPlayer as well as visit social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

A choice of three covers is available and there is a 3.2-megapixel camera to capture that perfect moment.

Wi-Fi can be accessed on the phone and three Genio home screens allow users to access favourite websites easily.
