A new handset from Research in Motion (RIM) has been added to Vodafone‘s range of consumer and business-focussed smartphones.
The carrier announced this week that the BlackBerry 8520 will be one of the "most affordable" of the manufacturer’s models in the UK and offers a level of appeal that will attract all types of users.
In addition to Wi-Fi connectivity and 16 GB of onboard storage, the handset boasts an integrated media player, two-megapixel camera with video recording, a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and a 2 GB memory card in the box.
Vodafone will make the BlackBerry 8520 available for free on 24-month contracts with a £25 fee and took the opportunity to highlight the touch-sensitive trackpad of the model that provides a "fast and easy" way to navigate its systems.
This week, RIM announced that it would be expanding the launch of the 8520 to a number of international markets and pointed out that it was "an incredibly approachable smartphone".
