One of the latest handsets to emerge from one South Korean manufacturer has been singled out as ideal for touchscreen newbies.

In an article for technology news and information resource T3, Mark Chacksfield looked at some of the pros and cons of the recently launched LG GD510 Pop.

He explained that the model would most likely suit buyers looking to get their first touch-enabled handsets and drew particular attention to the cost of the gadgets.

The writer said the GD510 was the latest in a line of affordable options that had hit the market like the HTC Tattoo and Orange Vegas, but noted that despite this, LG has not skimped on the features.

In addition to a 3.2-megapixel camera, the three-inch screen offers access to an integrated FM radio and the model also offers MicroSD support and Bluetooth connectivity.

"It’s great for those who have never tested the touchscreen waters before," Mr Chacksfield said.

LG unveiled the GD510 Pop in September and highlighted its status as a simple and stylish mobile phone.
