The Toshiba TG01 is one of the phones this year that I’m most looking forward to having a fiddle about with. It’s the most powerful phone ever made (with that 1GHz processor that I still can’t quite get my head round the power of) and has got the biggest screen ever seen on a mobile phone (4.1 inches… that’s big). You can just tell it’s going to be a big seller when it hits the market (rumoured to happen next week).
According to Cool Smart Phone, however, it looks like the Toshiba TG01 might have got itself an exclusivity deal (for a while, anyway), and for once, it’s not one of the usual subjects (you know, O2, Voda or T-Mobile) who have snagged it.
Apparently, it’s going to appear on Orange first. Their website lists it as coming soon, but whether that means it’s an exclusive, or that they just updated their site quicker than everyone else, I’m not sure. Either way, after missing out on every single one of the network exclusives over the last couple of years, it’s really rather nice to see Orange getting their act together.
There’s the TG01, they snagged the Samsung i8910 HD, and let’s not forget that they’ve got the HTC Hero coming up soon, as well. It’s nice to see the network I’m on finally getting back to the days when they snagged the Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910 as exclusives. Just as long as they don’t bung their own interface on the front end of the Toshiba TG01, like they did with the P910, which very nearly ruined an otherwise stunning phone.
Expect a full review of the TG01 when I get my grubby paws on one…
