Well, blimey o’reilly, knock me over with a feather, etc etc. Orange are back on the march for world domination, it seems, ‘cos they’ve got themselves another exclusive phone, to join the ranks of the HTC Hero and Samsung i8910 HD. And it’s a big’n, in every sense of the word.
Yup, according to CoolSmartphone, Orange have only gone and snagged themselves the jaw-droppingly awesome Toshiba TG01!
Yes, I’m excited, does it show?
I’m excited for a number of different reasons: 1/ the Toshiba TG01 is awesome, and since it’s finally got a release date (and we’re talking, like, literally only days away), I’ll soon get to play with one; 2/ Orange are my preferred network; and 3/ I can remember a time when Orange were always the first ones to get a new smartphone when it hit the market. The first three P-Series phones from Sony Ericsson (you know, the P800, P900 and P910, of which I had all three) were all Orange-exclusives, and them snagging the downright bleedin’ mind-bogglingly brilliant Toshiba TG01 is giving me massive, happy flashbacks to the first three smartphones I ever owned.
Like I said, the Toshiba TG01 is a big’n in every sense of the word. Well, alright, except one; it’s only 9.9mm thick. But apart from that figure (and technically, I could argue it’s big on, er, slimness), ‘big’ is the world that sums it up. Big power from the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and a big, big, BIG screen, the Toshiba TG01 will; I have no doubt, rock.
Of course, I’ll review it properly when I get the chance, but expect it to get a big score as well, because on first impressions, I reckon it really will be as good as everyone hopes…

Just received my TG01. Slim and sleek, the only problem I have is you cant hear the phone ring or the voice in the sat nav, I have turned the handset volume to max but still no good. Surely Toshiba hasn’t spent so much money on developing an iPhone beater to fall down by the simple fact you just cant hear the ring or media applications. Does any one know of any application settings that might solve this issue?
