I have this phone now for almost a week and i still can't stop playing with it :)
It has so many options and with a big mini-sd card in it it becomes like a little portable pc with fast (tnx to wifi connection) & full internet browser.
Battery power could have been a little stronger, but still : 10 hours of mp3 listening before having an emty battery is not a bad time.
I can add as much extra games or applications as I want, there doesn't seem to be a limit (unless like with my previous nokia 6230, where i could only add 35 games/apps)
The camera works great and if u don't zoom with it it records quite a decent movie in mpg format, the built in xenon flitser works great in the dark for taking excellent pictures.
The closable shutter is a nice improvement so the lens stays clean at all time
Route 66 mobile also works like a charm on the n82 so nokia maps becomes no longer needed to find my way

Only thing I miss are some simple programs like a timer/chrono wich isn't supported anymore, also at this moment it seems to be impossible to show phone numbers together with names in the contact list, i have to edit the name before i see the phone number.
And last but not least, the back of the phone, wich holds the battery, is too easy to remove, when i take it out of my pocket, the cover sometimes is almost removed by itself, wich makes me think it isn't such a strong cover.
Also, I would have liked it very much if they would have added the 'fm transmitter' in this device also, wich can send music from your phone on every free fm location (for example it's very usefull in your car)

All by all I give this phone 9.5/10 because it's very complete and replaces many other things like mp3player, camera, tomtom, calculator, watch, etc but still it is a very a pocketfriendly pda that looks like a normal phone

Well, it's 3G so you can stream videos and so on (for example, like watching the Kerrang channel on a 3 mobile, something I do quite regularly), from the internet, but it doesn't have full mobile TV in the "DVB-H" sense.

It'll be a while longer before we get full DVB-H over here.

But yes, you can watch downloaded AND streaming videos, and since what the networks currently call mobile TV uses streaming videos, in that sense, you CAN get it on your phone.

The 5mp camera isn't all that. it lacks clarity at normal distances when flash is used/needed. They could improve on the software as well. I.E. color setting on camera is not saved and you have to constantly change it to Vivid for every picture you would like to take. call log does not display phone number of saved contact - i don't know where they called me from unless i dig deep into the menu - office, home, shop-and use copy/edit number option. Nokia has always in my mind had a reputation for convienence as far as functions and shortcuts so i'm a little disappointed. One more thing to mention.. the nokia 7250 groups the same callers so that it shows date and time of each call. with the N82 if the same person calls you twenty times it will list them twenty times and clear up the other previous callers which sucks since i'm use to the previous. seems like they are going backwards. 7250 was made like 7 years ago - disappointing. but i hope the software upgrade fixes all my complaints - then i'd be a very happy camper.

Hi Mark,

I agree with you on the keys, very ericssonesque. Shame really as Nokia are normally quite generous with the keypads.

Just got one from O2 and it is exactly what I was looking for. Smarter than the N95 and feels better in the hand. Was going to go for the Viewty but got put off by a few features. I'm still exploring all the features - but mine came with the voice navigation. The only annoying thing is the size of the buttons - still usable but you will need fingernails. Also, it is a shame the onboard memory is low (128MB I think). But I'm going to get a bigger card and already converting DVDs to watch on it.
