The feeding frenzy begins – iPhone on Vodafone coming soon!

Official - Vodafone will get the iPhone soonWell, it seems the feeding frenzy has well and truly begun. After the big news yesterday (the news that Orange will officially be selling the iPhone later this year), the next network to get Apple’s baby has stuck its head above the parapet. And it’s Vodafone.

Yup, according to their own press release, Vodafone will be selling the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS from early 2010.

That just leaves T-Mobile and 3, then we’d have the full set. Now, of course, it’s early days yet, so neither Orange or Vodafone have announced what their tariff details are for the iPhone (and you can guarantee they’ll use custom tariffs for it), but the mere fact they have now said they’re going to be selling it must surely be getting right up O2’s nose. It’d get up my nose, if my rivals were rubbing it in that they’re now selling something that only I could sell, previously. Especially when it’s the iPhone 3GS, y’know, the new one, that’s not been on the market long, that O2 have been marketing up to the hilt.

So, the question is, now, when T-Mobile and 3 will announce they’re selling it. I mean, come on, they’re bound to. Popular handset like that (and whilst I personally don’t like the phone, I have to concede it is popular), they’re bound to.

O2 are being dignified about it, at least, as reported on by our own news section. Although, of course, they’ve done that old network trick of saying: “We also offer award-winning customer service and benefits, which is why more people choose O2 than any other network in the UK.”

I would guess their mood is ‘remaining dignified, but spitting feathers’…

And the final note, there should be another blog post today, but it depends on me getting the go ahead to post it. It’s a review, y’see. Of something that’s not officially been announced yet. So I can’t post it until I’m allowed.

Watch this space, later today…

[EDIT: Ooh! Reviews of it are popping up online! That means I can go ahead with it! Keep watching folks, it'll be written in a bit...]
