A new handset to be launched on the 3 Mobile network has been put to the test by one expert.

In a piece for Trusted Reviews this week, Edward Chester looked at the INQ Mini 3G and noted it could be an ideal purchase for parents wanting to buy their teens a handset to keep in touch.

Following on from its predecessor the INQ1, it was noted the carrier has once more brought a device that features social networking as central to its focus – with applications for Skype, Facebook and Twitter all highlighted.

However, it was noted the quality of the feature set may put some people off, while for others the mobile could be an ideal solution.

"If you … just want to make sure you’re never out of the social loop then you should definitely consider this phone. Especially if buying for teenage sons and daughters," Mr Chester concluded.

Unveiled by 3 Mobile earlier this month, the INQ Mini 3G can be picked up for around £59.99 on pay-as-you-go and is also free on 3 Mobile’s £15 monthly tariff.
