Android, the next wave - T-Mobile PulseGiven that every other blog post today has been about Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, it comes as something of a breath of fresh air that the final blog post for today isn’t. It’s about an Android phone, but it’s a double breath of fresh air, because it’s an Android phone that’s not made by HTC.

It’s the T-Mobile Pulse, and according to AndroidGuys, it’s actually made by Chinese manufacturer Huawei.

Ok, actually, it’s a triple breath of fresh air, since it’s also the first pay as you go Android phone. So, what can we expect from this new beastie? Well, first things first: just look at it. It’s stunning. It’s all sleek, and sexy, and the finish on it, which looks to be basically chrome and black, is luvverly. Oh, and then there’s the fact that Huawei have dressed up the Android UI using new backgrounds and menu colours, which makes the guts look as good as the hardware. Not as nice as the Sense UI on the HTC Hero, but it does the job, and it looks pretty.

Oh, and it has the analogue clock widget. I’m a sucker for any phone that has an analogue clock on the screen.

As for hardware specs, you’re looking at a 3.5 inch touchscreen, 3MP camera, WiFi and GPS. Since it’s a PAYG phone, them specs are pretty decent, and the fact they’re bundled up in such a good-looking phone certainly helps. So, essentially, that leaves me with just one qualm, and it’s not even a qualm, really, just something that makes me titter.

Put simply, I think I’m genetically incapable of saying the name Huawei without saying it in an execrably rubbish Geordie accent…
