The latest entry in Research In Motion’s range of touchscreen-enabled solutions has been put to the test in a new review.

According to Flora Graham in a piece for the Cnet technology news website, the firm has been able to combine a number of aspects in its replacement for the original BlackBerry Storm.

However, as the second model to come equipped with a SurePress clickable, touch panel, she notes that this means the device is lacking the full qwerty keyboard that is among the brand’s most attractive features.

Ms Graham went on to say that this does not mean the Storm2 is not without its highlights, adding that it will clearly be to the taste of those who want a combination of functionality and new interface technology.

"The Storm2 does a good job of taking everything BlackBerry-flavoured and packing it into a touchscreen handset," she concluded.

Consumers who do want a full qwerty keyboard with their Research In Motion device could still opt for the upcoming Bold 9700 or consider the Curve 8900 – which boasts Wi-Fi, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a host of messaging facilities.

Dou you favour a touch or qwerty BlackBerry?
