A recent article has listed 11 ways in which Google’s Android platform is better than the operating system (OS) running on Apple’s iPhone 3G.

Following the launch of the T Mobile G1 in New York last week, Tech Radar’s Dan Grabham states that not only will Android be a more open OS, allowing for a wider selection of apps, but will be better integrated with Google’s existing web features.

Mr Grabham adds that Android also appears to be "incredibly fast" and adds that better hardware could mean that the iPhone 3G could soon "be playing catch-up".

He predicts Android will soon be available on a number of handsets – as opposed to Apple’s single model – and adds that the inclusion of Flash and greater flexibility will make it a better prospect than Apple’s iconic mobile.

"Proper keyboards", better support and less network restrictions are also things the article adds are likely to come with Google’s OS – and Apple’s close monitoring of what can and can not be accessed could also be a thing of the past for some.

"Apple has banned several apps from the App Store, including the Murderdome adult comic. You won’t get so many restrictions with Android," Mr Grabham concludes.

The App Store was launched by Apple in July this year and allows user to download software for their iPhone or iPod Touch.
