Yes, it’s Friday afternoon, it’s time for something daft, inane and downright stupid!
Except this time, it’s something daft inane and downright stupid, that also happens be true…
Word’s come through to us from engadget.com, that a new service has launched in our fair capital, London (in Westminster, to be precise) whereby people can use a short code on their mobile phone, to find out where the nearest public toilet is. Sooooooo, if you get caught short passing through London’s West End, you just text “toilet” to 80097, and it’ll come back to you, telling where to leg it for a wee.
I can see 4 potential problems with that:
1/ Depending how desperate the situation is, you’d better be able to text bloody quickly…
2/ If you get caught short in London’s West End, chances are you’ve been on the lash since lunchtime, so the chances of you being able to text the word “toilet” accurately are slim…
3/ You’d better hope there’s not a lot of network congestion, or that a LOT of people all suddenly want a wee at the same time, or you’re not going to get the reply before you feel it running down your leg…
4/ It costs 25p to send the message…
Still, 25p’s better than getting an 80 quid fine, and a criminal record, just for having a slash in an alley…
But the funniest bit, the bit that had me very nearly needing their service from laughing so much, is the name; yes, it really is called SatLav!
HA!

I bet George Michael could find this service VERY useful.
