Samsung has announced that its Samsung Galaxy Portal phone is available on T Mobile.

The smartphone has pre-loaded Android applications and T Mobile claims on its website that the phone will take "your mobile life to another dimension".

Games and applications are obtainable from Android Market and the user can customise up to three home screens for different needs.

"Whizzy" applications, such as Layar, which gives the user the whereabouts of train stations and pubs, are available to download on the handset.

A 3.2-megapixel camera and built-in GPS comes with the handset that has mobile broadband capabilities.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also available on the Samsung Galaxy Portal and a 1GB memory card comes with it.

The quad-band phone has a stand-by time of up to 362 hours with a talk time of more than five hours.

The Samsung Galaxy Portal was available outside the UK under the name Galaxy Spica i5700.
