Samsung appears to be expanding its range of Bada smartphones with the Samsung Wave 723 smartphone (aka the Samsung GT S7230E).
The phone is the lower-spec, more affordable follow up to the popular Samsung Wave, which was the first device to run on the manufacturers own Bada operating system.
It’s also reported to have a 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a five-megapixel camera with LED flash, a MicroSD slot, TouchWiz 3.0 user interface with Samsung’s Social Hub and a leather flip cover to protect its screen.
Samsung has already announced the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro (aka the Wave 523 and 533), yet little has been mentioned of them since their announcement in June.
Like the Samsung Wave 723, the Wave 2 and 2 Pro are expected to launch in September as well, although an August release date had been muted originally.
The Wave 2 phones are identical except for the physical keyboard on the Pro version.
The Wave series of phones compliments Samsung’s Android-powered Galaxy S handset, which is currently the second most popular phone with MobileShop.com users.
The Samsung Wave 723 will reportedly launch first in Germany and then roll out to other countries in Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
It’s reportedly been given a €240 (£200) sim-free price tag, which is to be confirmed.
