Mobile phone manufacturer Samsung is working on the development of a bendy OLED screen, leading to speculation that it could launch a full-screen flip phone.
Several technology sites have reported that a prototype of the phone was on display at a recent trade show in Japan and a video of the handset is also in circulation.
Gadget website T3 described it as looking like a media player with a large touchscreen – but with a real difference.
It can apparently flip shut, allowing the user access to a smaller touchscreen, complete with standard phone functionality.
Although Samsung has not released any details about the technology involved, T3 speculated that it could lead to a new generation of phones with media player functions.
Samsung has already established a reputation for innovation and recently picked up the Best Camera Phone honour at the Mobile Choice Awards for the i8510, the first eight-megapixel camera to reach the UK market.
