The Samsung Diva S7070 has been released in the UK to coincide with the manufacturer sponsoring Elite Model Look UK 2010 – the world’s largest modelling competition.

The handset – designed to directly target young females – has a diamond-shaped crystal button and a white embossed quilted back cover.

Mark Mitchinson, vice-president of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said it is the first device the manufacturer has designed particularly for young ladies.

He added: "We know they want mobiles that are exceptionally stylish, but they also need the latest technology and practical features and our Samsung Diva won’t disappoint."

It has a 3.2-megapixel camera that includes a Beauty Shot mode. This allows users to retouch photos and there is also the Lomo Effect mode which turns standard images "into pieces of art".

The manufacturer recently released the Samsung GT-I8000 Omnia II that includes an "impressive" five-megapixel camera, according to Trusted Reviews’ Niall Magennis.
