A few days back, I ran a story about a new Samsung 8 megapixel camera phone coming, dubbed the M8800 Bresson. Well, as of today, according to GSM Arena, we have some actual pictures of it, and a massive confusion over the name. It would seem that this powerful mobile phone is being reported by two different names!
So, which is it: Samsung M8800 Bresson or Samsung M8800 Pixon??
Well, it’s entirely possible it’s both. You often find mobile phones are released in different countries, under different names (especially Samsung and LG mobile phones, they’re devils for it!), so I’m willing to bet we’re seeing the same thing here. That in mind, I’m sticking with the Bresson name, since 1/ it’s the name of a famous photographer, so it makes sense; 3/ that’s what Phones4U called it, and they ought to know what they’re talking about; and 4/ Pixon doesn’t sound as good.

Anyhow, whatever it’s name is, there are now some brilliant live shots of the Samsung M8800 Bresson out there on the net, and they prove something: this is one of the best looking mobile phones that’s going to be out there in time for Christmas. The specs are good, too, since on top of the whopping great 8 megapixel camera (with tons of extra features, and featuring a new camera module even better than the one in the Samsung i8510 INNOV8!), you also get a full touchscreen interface similar to that on the Tocco, GPS, HSDPA, and WiFi.
In other words, this little Samsung is one damn powerful mobile phone!
There’s no confirmed release date as yet, but expect to see the Samsung M8800 Bresson some time in November.

In terms of looks the Pixon has many distinct similarities to other Samsung handsets. And its casing seems kinda plastic. According to the GSMArna it is the Slimmest 8MP phone. Viewed from the specs, this is a phone all about multimedia. But the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity must be a probable reason for people not to choose this phone.
