Ripple – the world’s first Bluetooth… earring?

Ripple - world's first Bluetooth earringRight, I’m sure I don’t have to explain what a Bluetooth headset is, nowadays? Handsfree kit for your phone, but wireless, just in case there really is anyone out there who hasn’t tried one, yet. However, according to IntoMobile, a new concept for a Bluetooth headset’s popped up online for people who think existing ones are a bit, well, big.

Called the Ripple, it’s the world’s first Bluetooth earring…

Essentially, the design ethos appears to have been “rip the ear hook off a standard Bluetooth headset, make the body all circular and prettified, stick a clip on the back to fasten it to your lughole”. I’m assuming it’s a clip-on type earring, anyway, because the idea of a permanently attached Bluetooth piercing is a bit… well, put it this way, when you needed to charge it, you’d have to tie your head to a wall socket for couple of hours, arguably not the most optimal solution, although it’s a rather funny image…

There’s no word as yet when, or even if, the Ripple headset will make it into production, but if you’ve got a nice, discretely sexy phone like the LG Arena, and you want equally discrete headset, the Ripple could well be your saviour!

I honestly think this product is creative and much more convenient for people to use everyday. However, I’d like to emphasize on the fact that the design isnt very attractive and I personally would not wear something that looks the way that does. Firstly, It reminds me of a “stretcher” type earring and it pretty much would cover my whole ear. Secondly, I apologize to anybody that I might cause offence to when I mention that this style is kind of “Gothic” and “Punk”. In saying this, you wont have much of a target group considering that this seems to attract more of a “Gothic” cultured background.

    Thank you.
