Research in Motion (Rim) has been awarded for helping organisations to work "smarter and do business better on the move" after its BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5 was given the Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service.
It allows IT managers the control of their organisation’s handsets, which includes setting passwords and disabling mobile applications among other uses.
Judges said the gadget "continues to set the standards others need to follow with a host of new features including web-based admin and Over-The-Air device upgrades".
In addition, users can link their Blackberry smartphones – which include the Blackberry 8520 Curve and Bold 9700 – and wireless networks.
And a new server solution, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, has just been released by the manufacturer enabling people with a Blackberry smartphone to securely synchronise it with Microsoft Windows Small Business Server.
