Plants vs Zombies is a new title available from Apple’s App Store and is "hugely addictive".
This is according to the team at Stuff magazine, which said the simple game has broken sales records after 300,000 people downloaded it in its first nine days of release.
Users of the Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB Black or similar handset simply have to protect their home against a pack of the undead by throwing plants, cherry bombs, walnuts and other snacks at them.
"Like a green-fingered tower defence game, it’s lots of fun," Stuff explained. "The premise is pretty straightforward."
The app costs £1.79 and could be just the thing for whiling away the morning bus journey.
So far, 577 users have rated it at the App Store and it has a score of five stars.
Other apps currently available include the classic Flick Fishing, Pocket Guitar and Flight Track, which gives you real-time information about flights.
