Pay-as-you-go
mobile phones are now more convenient than ever thanks to the number of ways in which they can be topped up, one expert has advised.
According to a spokesman for OneVu, a company which offers users access to a number of online personal finance solutions, being able to top up handsets direct from a bank account is a great thing.
Miles Quittman, chief executive of the company, said that both consumers and financial institutions were set to benefit from such paper-free services and that they also encourage businesses to adopt similar solutions.
"We’ve got the mobile operators brands being viewed and their prepaid phones topped up online," he said. "Really it is about offering consumer convenience."
OneVu is the first company in the UK to offer an internet banking service which allows mobile phones to be topped up online.
Recent figures from Juniper Research suggested the pay-as-you-go mobile top-up market is now worth more than £4.2 billion per annum.
