I’ve been going on about the Palm Pre for absolutely ages, now, since roughly 13 seconds after they unveiled it. And one thing you may remember me saying (more than once), is that I’m getting really rather annoyed at the Americans getting the fun, with no official release date for the Pre here in Blighty.
According to T3.com, however, we might not have to wait much longer for details, as they’re reporting that Palm are planning to officially unveil their UK plans next week, finally ending speculation about when it’ll be released, what network it’ll be on, and how much it’ll cost.
I still bet it’ll be O2. Or, I suppose, there’s the outside chance it’ll be Vodafone, since the very first image we ever saw of a Palm Pre with a sim card in it (hence guaranteeing it was a GSM version) had a Voda sim card. O2 seems a more likely candidate, however, especially if the news earlier in the year about Telefónica being its European distributor is correct (since Telefónica own O2).
Hmmm, well, hopefully we’ll find out for certain next week!
Oh, and since there’s also news going about that the Toshiba TG01 will be officially unveiled in the UK next week, the next 9 (roughly) days are going to be really rather exciting. Since, y’know, those two phones are two of the ones I really want to get my hands on this year…

roll on i say, not only because it’ll more than likely force the iphone onto other networks and i have fingers crossed for at least one other (maybe vodafone, hopefully orange)
otherwise if its not going on o2 then i hope it goes on orange instead, altho i wonder if vodafone would be more attractive with the recent prospect of it taking over t-mobile?

can you recommend a pay and go phone upto about £150 either vodafone or orange (for reception reasons) not too big but nice to use?

Hmmm, up to £150, you say? Well, in that price range, my particular favourites are the LG Cookie, the Samsung Tocco Lite, or if you prefer something with a keypad, the Sony Ericsson W595 or Samsung G600.
They’re just my choices, though, check ‘em out and see what you think.
