Ah, the Palm Pre, a phone that many round the world are dying to get their hands on. According to MyPre, the world may now know the release date for this game-changing phone.
Well, the American release date, on the Sprint network, anyway…
According to Palm Pre beta tester (well, he says he is) Jim Van, on his Twitter feed, it seems like the US version, on the Sprint network, is due out on April 30th. Of course, that doesn’t help us in the UK, but at least it’s news of things moving forward, since once that phone’s out, presumably they’ll be able to get cracking with the GSM version that we want.
If they can hit that release date, it’ll give a nice head start over the next incarnation of the iPhone, and despite Palm backing down from their investor’s claims that people would abandon the Apple baby in droves, to get the Pre, it seems that prophecy might be coming a little bit true, if the comments I’ve read around and about the place are accurate.
Still not the GSM version, though, is it Palm…
In the long wait until I can get my hands on the Sony Ericsson Idou to play with, I need something to muck about with, and the Palm Pre would fill that gap rather nicely. Besides, my mate keeps mithering me about it, so please get it released, otherwise they’ll only go and buy a Nokia N97, instead.
