Orange has unveiled a mobile broadband deal set to be available for under £5.

Consumers who are light users of the internet have been targeted with this new product, which provides an allowance of 500 Mb per month for £4.89.

Included in the 18-month contract is a free Huawei E160e dongle that doubles as a memory stick. It is available in pink, white and black.

Speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps are available with this deal, which the network said is "perfect" for users who "just want to email and surf the web during the day".

Asif Aziz is director of broadband and home at Orange UK and said as the cheapest pay-monthly offering on the market it represents "value for money".

"We are committed to building our mobile broadband portfolio so it provides customers with a range of flexible solutions," he added.

Orange has been in the news recently due to its Rockcorps scheme, where by youngsters can volunteer to help out with community-based projects to receive tickets to an exclusive concert in return.
