Those with mobile phones on Orange networks might want to check out a new contactless credit card from the network and Barclaycard.
Eventually, Orange wants to make contactless mobile payments possible – and it says this is the next piece of the puzzle.
Users can pay for goods or services at certain retailers using the card, earning reward points while they’re at it.
This then provide vouchers that can be spent at shops such as HMV and Marks & Spencer, or swapped for discounts on Orange goodies.
Marc Overton is vice president of business development and partnerships at Orange UK and said the credit card was "exciting".
Barclaycard managing director Chris Wood added: "We are seeing demand from both retailers and customers for ever more convenient ways to pay and accept payment and believe that mobile and contactless technologies are key to meeting those needs."
The announcement comes days after Orange launched HD Voice, which it said will give customers brilliant sound quality for their phone calls.
