"Busy families" are the ideal customer for the new O2 Joggler, the manufacturer has revealed.
The Joggler is described as a "first of its kind" gadget that sends text messages to each O2mobile phone-using member reminding them about preset events such as birthdays, appointments or school runs.
It does not require any kind of ongoing cost or subscription payment and can connect to broadband using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
Some of the extra functions include weather updates, news headlines, a digital photo frame and an alarm clock, among others – all of which can be controlled using the seven-inch touchscreen.
"It has been purpose built to help families better organise their lives," said marketing director of O2 Telefonica Alistair Johnston.
The manufacturer also said the Joggler was "the digital evolution of the traditional family wall calendar".
Meanwhile, fans of the network now have the opportunity to own the LG Cookie handset in a sleek white colour scheme, after it was announced last month that the device will be exclusive to O2.
