Nokia to show off S60 Touch at Mobile World Congress

nokia_iphoneBig news from Engadget Mobile, of what’ll be the first actual hands-on we get with Nokia’s upcoming S60 Touch interface, or as someone at Nokia is doubtless calling it, “the iPhone-killer”.

Needless to say, I’m a little bit excited, as 1/ touchscreens are cool and always will be and 2/ it’s Nokia’s first actual touchscreen phone (even though they do touchscreeny stuff with the N810 internet tablet. So, in other words, it’s going to rock, basically giving all the coolness and top-end features, with the proddy-pokey interface you get from touchscreen phones.

And I like touchscreen phones. I’ve got a Sony Ericsson P1i, and my last FOUR phones have all been touchscreen (well, ok, they’ve all been P-series Sony Ericssons, although I nearly got an LG Viewty). Will the new Nokia Touch interface be enough to tempt me away from Sony Ericsson?

Well, we shall have to see. Needless to say, though, this is going to be one of the biggest stories of the year, so far, so we WILL be keeping a very close eye on it!
