The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been given a little bit of a makeover in time for the launch of a new Hollywood blockbuster.

Directed by Lost creator JJ Abrams, the reboot of the Star Trek franchise hits theatres on May 8th and as such the Finnish manufacturer has re-equipped the touchscreen device with some spaced out features.

Trekkies looking for a new mobile may be tempted by the fact the special edition version of the 5800 will feature pre-loaded screen savers, wallpapers, eight special ringtones and a phaser application.

It is thought the new model could be available to Vodafone, Orange, T Mobile and O2 – although official details on pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.

Previously, the phone has made appearances in Britney Spears’ music video for the single, Womanizer and also featured in one of last year’s most successful comic book films – The Dark Knight.
