New technology could be heading to mobile phones that will make accessing information even easier, according to reports.
T3 states that a spokesman for Nokia has confirmed that the company is working on new technology that will offer handset users access to data by pointing their mobiles at buildings and objects.
It states that Teppo Paavola, vice president at Nokia‘s corporate business development department, confirmed details of the system, which follows similar plans hinted at by Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
The Point and Find system, as it is known, could prove to be handy in a number of situations – such as accessing cinema listings or restaurant opening times.
"Films showing at the cinema, the times and the ability to book tickets will all be available online, as will trailers you can watch," the article adds, noting that a beta version of the system could be available "within the next few months".
Other Nokia developments which could be tied to the new Point and Find system include Near Field Communication, which is being developed with the paper-free ticketing market in mind.
