Nokia offers entry-level model ‘that is not short on features’

Nokia has unveiled the 2700 Classic – a new handset it claims combines affordability with the latest features.

The entry-level model is one of three new phones announced by the Finnish company this week, but where the 6700 focuses on high-speed connectivity and the 6303 is tailored for music-users, the 2700 is more concerned with affordability.

However, Nokia claims this does not mean it is short on technology, as in addition to a two-megapixel camera, the handset has 2GB memory card support, its own music player and web access.

Soren Petersen, Nokia‘s senior vice-president, said: "The rich features and simple interface mean that in many cases, the Nokia 2700 classic will provide its owner’s first internet experience."

The phone is expected to come with a price tag of around €65 (£58) on its release.

Nokia recently announced the 11 finalists for its Calling All Innovators competition – which aims to find new ideas on how to use mobile phones to improve people’s quality of life.

Is the new Nokia a tempting purchase?
