Nokia E72 ‘made for messaging’

The Nokia E72 is designed to be ideal for messaging – whether for personal or business use – according to its manufacturer.

Vice-president of the handset manufacturer Ukko Lappalainen explains that the average person now spends five full working days each year responding to their emails.

The company’s research suggests that this is well in advance of the time spent text messaging or speaking on voice phone calls.

As a result, the E72 – launched officially on November 16th – has been designed to enable email functionality similar to that experienced on a desktop computer.

With a full QWERTY keyboard, the handset also promises to enable easier interaction with chat-based software.

"Half of us (46 per cent) choose email over voice or text to send and receive important information," says Mr Lappalainen.

He adds that the new model "was designed exactly with this kind of person in mind".

Navigating emails and chat windows is also made easier with the inclusion of the proprietary Optical Navi Key to enable smoother scrolling.
