Smartphone technology, a wireless services manager and a network service manager has produced a facility for business users that can be deployed seamlessly, Motorola says.

Windows mobile-based voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) smartphones use two different servers.

One of them is used to connect to office PBX systems, while the other provides management of devices.

It offers enterprise users services they can usually only access from desktops.

Motorola describes its Team (Total Enterprise Access and Mobility) solution as transforming a traditional desktop into a mobile virtual office.

Imran Akbar, Motorola’s vice president and general manager of Converged Enterprise Communications, said: "The Team solution is designed from the ground up to provide the voice quality, interoperability, mobility, scalability, security and user experiences that enterprises want."

He went on to add the Team solution was designed as a "non-intrusive overlay" and companies did not need to make changes to existing infrastructure in order to use it.

Motorola recently announced it has sold its software development centre in Malaysia to Satyam Computer Services.
