Right, first up today is another update to the story of the JCB TOUGH PHONE. In fact, it’s 4 updates in one, as it’s 4 videos of the JCB phone cheating death, yet again! And believe me, file these vids under “UNBELIEVABLE!”

First up, video footage from the launch day, with the one and only Peter Jones, from Dragon’s Den (new attempted murder weapons here: height, a 1-tonne truck, a cement mixer and a power hose):

Ok, that was pretty cool. Time for some more, I think! Next up, the phone being immersed in soda, while it’s ringing, and yes, you can hear it get muffled as the liquid covers it! (Note: from herein, apologies for the videos not being in English. However, if anyone can translate, please do, in the comments! And yes, it is a Sonim XP1, but since that is identical in every way to the JCB phone, it’s a valid test.)

Next, and it’s getting serious here: encasing the phone in concrete, letting it harden, then chipping it with a massive hammer and chisel (and on a side note, how the hell did it survive this?? Survive it did, though, check out the footage!)

Last up, what I like to call “Apocalypse JCB”, as they strap the phone to a firework and let it off.

Oh come on, surely that should’ve killed it! What does it take to stop this thing living? I mean, as mobile phones go, it’s like Dawn Of The Dead, you just can’t kill it!

Hmmmmmmmmm, removing the head or destroying the brain…

You know what, I have my doubts that’ll kill the JCB TOUGH PHONE…
