Vodafone has been given an award for its security award by a section of the government communications headquarters.
The mobile phone giant’s Secure Remote Access solution has been awarded the CCTM certificate, meaning the phone company’s claims of good data security has been verified and given the government’s stamp of approval.
The Secure Remote Access solution is designed to help protect an organisation’s data and networks.
Jonathan Rutherford, head of enterprise and public sector marketing for Vodafone, said the solution is supposed to allow "organisations to reap all the benefits of flexible working".
He added that the company was "delighted" to be recognised by the CESG, which is responsible for secure knowledge sharing to customers.
The accolade can be recognised by public sector organisations such as the Ministry of Defence and National Health Service that the phone company’s solution has been independently tested.
Head of CCTM secretariat Peter Hayes said he was delighted to welcome Vodafone to the certificates portfolio.
