I don’t need to say it again, but after I got my Sony Ericsson X1, I’ve become a convert to the world of Windows Mobile. I actually genuinely like it as an OS, and it’s destined for even bigger things when version 6.5, and then version 7 come out. However, according to IntoMobile, Windows Mobile 7 might be even cooler when it gets released.
It seems Microsoft want to push out auto-updates to the OS, without people having to log on to anything, or go through any manufacturer update procedures. So, it sounds pretty much like Windows updates on the PC, but translated into the phone world.
Except that for phones, it could be rather cool to have new features and apps magically appear when Microsoft pushes updates out to users.
Picture it, you get an alert notification on, say, your Toshiba TG01 (or whatever version they’re up to when Windows 7 comes out), you let it download and install, and when you look again, your phone has, for example, a new music player instead of the bog standard (and bleedin’ awful) Windows Media Player.
All in all, then, damnably intriguing!
